Our quality policy
Congrestolken was set up in 1976 by a group of conference interpreters who were all members of the International Association of Conference Interpreters, AIIC. Its aim was to guarantee the highest professional standards. This focus on quality has remained the cornerstone of Congrestolken’s work to this day.
All our interpreters have a university education and a broad range of interests, and they constantly develop their skills. They prepare for every contract by reading up thoroughly and familiarising themselves with the terminology. After all, interpretation is more than just translating words: you need to understand the topic under discussion yourself if you want to get the message across. Aiic membership is a badge of quality and of great importance in selecting the interpreters we recruit.
AIIC is the only organisation of interpreters acknowledged by major international bodies such as the United Nations and the European Union.
Training, experience and adherence to rigid codes of conduct and non-disclosure agreements are required of these interpreters. All our members are AIIC interpreters, and our AIIC network enables us to recruit the best interpreters for you all over the world.
